WHAT IS HIGHRISE IDEAS?
Highrise Ideas turns community designs into real items.
You share a design for a single wearable item. Players who want it preorder it. If enough people back it, we build it, and everyone who preordered gets one.
It works like Kickstarter: backing an Idea is a commitment, not a wishlist. If an Idea doesn't reach its goal, it's cancelled and every backer is refunded.
HOW IT WORKS
Review. We're strict here, and it's worth knowing why. Backers preorder based on your picture, so we have to build what's in the picture. When a submission is rough or unclear, our artists end up guessing at what you meant, and the finished item often isn't what you had in mind. Approving only designs we can build as drawn protects you, your backers, and everyone else's place in the queue.
Funding. Your Idea is live for 30 days at a 25% discount. Reach the goal and it goes into production immediately.
Production. Our artists build the item and work with you on the details. There's no fixed length. It's ready when it's ready, and preorders stay open at full price the whole time.
Release. Finished items go on sale in the Highrise store every Monday for 7 days. Backers and the designer get their copies on launch day.
Items can't be traded or gifted during the sale week. Buying up a launch to resell it pushes the item's value down during the exact week the designer is earning from it. The 7 days protect the creator and the players who want to wear the item. After that, it trades like anything else.
PRICES
| Preorder | After funding | |
|---|---|---|
| Most items | 6,000 | 8,000 |
| Hair | 9,000 | 12,000 |
All Ideas items are Legendary. Rarity used to be something you picked, and it set both your price and how many backers you needed. That meant a design's chances could come down to a decision made before anyone had seen it. One standard means every item funds on the strength of the design.
Why hair costs more. Hair takes our artists roughly eight times longer to build than any other item type. It's also the most submitted type by a wide margin. Priced the same as everything else, hair fills the queue and everything behind it waits. The higher price reflects the work, and it keeps room open for the rest.
Why the price drops after funding. It used to double, from 6,000 to 12,000, and sales tended to fall off sharply at that point. That's income creators never saw, on items that had just proved people wanted them. A smaller step keeps your item selling all the way through to launch.
WHAT YOU EARN
Designers receive 10% of everything their item makes, paid as Earned Gold. That's preorders during funding, preorders during production, and every sale during the Monday store week.
Earned Gold spends like regular Gold, and can be cashed out through Creator Exchange.
